Massage in pregnancy can be incredibly beneficial, both physically and emotionally, and the White Room Pregnancy Massage pampers the body as it prepares for childbirth. Using pregnancy-safe Valmont oils (Rosa Machata or Sea Buckthorn), we focus on stimulating the circulation, releasing muscular tension and encouraging lymphatic drainage.
Research has shown that massage can help to slow down the release of stress hormones, whilst also encouraging the release of oxytocin, the body’s natural pain relief hormone. If you are in your first trimester you can lie face down on the massage bed or on your side – whichever is most comfortable for you. For clients in their second or third trimesters we will use pillows and bolsters to settle you comfortably on your side. You can always lie semi-reclined if you prefer.
